Contrary to popular belief, most markets remain fairly active in the fall. So if you didn’t sell this summer but still want to be out of your home by the end of the year, don’t despair. Here are three listing tips that will help you successfully sell this fall:
Spruce up your curb appeal. The way your home looks from the street will serve as your potential buyers’ first impression, so it needs to be pristine. Thankfully, even simple fixes like adding fresh mulch, removing dead plants and weeds, and raking fallen leaves can make a big difference.
Add tasteful decoration. Since the season doesn’t allow much opportunity in the way of flowers and landscaping designs, it’s always a good idea to add some tasteful decor to your front porch and throughout your house to really make buyers feel at home. With that in mind, now is not the time to try to win your neighborhood’s Halloween decorating contest. Keep things simple and welcoming, and steer clear of anything overly gaudy.
Be flexible with showings. It gets dark much earlier during the fall, so making the most of the daylight hours we do have is crucial. Be open to accepting showings as often as possible, as this will help you find a buyer much more quickly.
